PLS 3rd Learning is seeking a Digital Designer, responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites and a small number of print-ready marketing materials for conferences. You will work as a member of the Media team and collaborate closely with our development and marketing teams to design and implement web solutions that meet our business goals and enhance our brand identity. This can be accomplished by identifying new opportunities to create better user experiences and by creating aesthetically pleasing branding strategies that help reach more customers.

Responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building navigation components. This role involves designing and implementing websites using the WordPress platform to develop and customize WordPress themes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design web-related marketing materials including banners and social media images
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Ensure that the website is responsive, works well on all devices, are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.
  • Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, maintain, and update WordPress websites.
  • Design and develop responsive and visually engaging websites and web applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective web designs.
  • Ensure websites are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to illustrate design concepts.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Work with the media team to integrate multimedia elements into website designs ensuring they meet all design and functionality requirements.
  • Coordinate with the media team to ensure a cohesive visual identity across all media platforms.
  • Provide assistance in the production of video and audio content for digital campaigns.
  • Provide UX/UI guidance for multimedia projects to ensure a seamless user experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of both print and website design
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Adobe XD or Figma, WordPress and/or similar CMS platforms
  • Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and Accessibility for Design and Development
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience in multi-media production
  • Proven experience as a Web Designer or similar role
  • Strong portfolio showcasing web design projects
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, or Tailwind CS
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • 2-4 years experience as a graphic or web designer or UX/UI role
  • Bachelors degree in web design, graphic design, computer science, or a related field is preferred

Salary Range: $25 an hour with an expectation of approximately 20 hours a week

PLS 3rd Learning is seeking a part-time (3 days/week) Enrollment Coordinator to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This position is a hybrid work model that allows employees to work both remotely and on-premises in our Buffalo, NY office.  Applicants must be able to work in the Buffalo office regularly as needed. This position is responsible for coordinating registrations, communicating with stakeholders, maintaining online courses, and assisting with program management tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate registrations and enrollments for online, on-site, and remote learning courses.
  • Communicate effectively with partners, course participants, and the finance office via phone, email, and help desk queries.
  • Maintain course information and content accuracy within Genius and Canvas learning management systems.
  • Build and maintain online courses for various partners (colleges/universities) using Genius and Canvas.
  • Assemble, mail, and track inventory of on-site course kits for instructors.
  • Generate reports and provide course data to designated staff.
  • Assist with program management duties as needed, including cross-training and substituting for the Program Manager.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT issues for participants and instructors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to commute regularly and consistently to the Buffalo, NY office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using workplace software (spreadsheets, collaborative documents, etc.).
  • Flexibility and ability to solve problems proactively.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with educational software (Canvas, Genius) a plus.
  • Background in customer service preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
